As you may know I am proud to serve on the Board of Beyound Emancipation (B:E) for the last 5 years.  I'm so proud of the work they do in supporting the youth of the East Bay providing housing, Edudation support, Food, and anything else to give these kids a fighting chance.

I became involved with B:E because it seemed like the perfect fit for me.  When I learned of their mission I could not stop thinking if my kids had fallen into the foster care system vs. getting adopted.  Too many kids are falling through the cracks and B:E is there to help.

Please join me in support B:E and the great work they are doing.  Anything helps, $5 or $5,000, it does not matter, all will help make a difference to a foster kid who has very little.

Here are some stafggering statistics

• Over 50,000 foster youth live in California
• 25% of foster youths experience homelessness within two years of aging out of care.
• Only 53% graduate high school on time, compared to 83% of their peers
• 93% of foster youth want to go to college. Only 4% earn their degree.
